It was a privilege to welcome Senator Gustavo Leite of Paraguay to Houston for a working meeting at our headquarters at Williams Tower, together with Max Torres, Managing Partner of Plata Energy and member of Orion Energy Consulting’s Advisory Board, and Miguel Zabala-Bishop, Founder & CEO of IGEF Global, a trusted strategic partner of Orion across Latin America.
Our conversation focused on Paraguay’s oil and gas potential and the broader opportunity to expand its energy matrix, strengthen energy security, and support sustained economic growth and development.
A central theme of our discussion was the importance of moving from potential to execution. Developing a country’s natural resources responsibly requires bringing together government, industry, investment, technology, and world-class expertise—creating the conditions for opportunities to become executable projects and sustainable economic value.
I was particularly impressed by Senator Leite’s drive to move Paraguay forward, his focus on translating ideas into action, and his commitment to discussing both the opportunities and challenges ahead openly with the Paraguayan people.
